Thank a Teacher Thursday

In every school there are many hard working and committed individuals who all strive to improve the future of the young people who walk through their gates each day.
Thursday March 26th marked this year’s “Thank a Teacher Thursday”.  On this day, schools pay tribute to teachers and support networks including teacher aides, administration staff, cleaners, grounds staff, parents and community members whose hard work and dedication all inspire learning.
Students spend an average of 15,000 hours with teachers before they graduate Year 12, so it is not surprising that research shows that teachers account for up to 30% of the variance in student achievement. It is what teachers and schools know, do and care about that makes the difference.
At Coolnwynpin State School “Thank a Teacher Thursday” was celebrated with a morning tea hosted by the QT Mutual Bank at Capalaba. Branch Manager, Brian Anderson, stated: “It is great to be able to offer something back to the staff at Coolnwynpin who work tirelessly to support the development of our next generation”. Principal, Mick Lawrance, said that he is very fortunate to have such an amazing staff and community who all pull together to support the school’s students.  “Our teachers, teacher aides, administration staff and support personnel, including our parents, all work together to make Coolnwynpin State School one of the best schools in the Redlands” he said.
“Thank a Teacher Thursday” provides an opportunity to recognise these contributions and thank teachers for inspiring the next generation.
